When i first came up with the name, The 3rd Network, i thought 3D and when i looked through the internet i came across this logo, it inspired me to make sure that our future logo had the same style.



so i asked our main team designers, Alex, Chris and Fahram to try something similar. this is what they came up with.




this was Alex' work, its very professional and it has a very clean feel to it, very happy with this idea!



Fahram's work is also very good, again, it holds the key factors when it comes to presentation. it looks very clean and very well designed. it is missing something tho, the first logo has the 3 axis, X Y and Z where this one only has X and Z. not adding to the name.

for the project plan i have assigned everyone a role, what i expect them to do is do some research on their area and summaries it so in a short paragraph so we can fit in with the 2000words.





the Facebook pages has had its ups and down so far but i know that its probably the best way to communicate to the whole team

this is a good example of how the facebook group page works, as you can see she has let me know what she has sent me some work to look at, the picture bellow shows how easy it is to upload and share new information found for out plan.

the 3rd network

today i really noticed the incredible task which is to run a team of 12 people, assigning jobs for them has been a nightmare, i have a bad feeling that this is going to lead to misunderstanding and problems within the team. the main reason which has allowed me to see this problem was when i assigned everyone a role. the instant i got home i was emailed by a few asking me what they needed to do. and if im honest, thats not very professional, they should take notes. another problem is that i simply cant remember either. i'll be taking notes myself next time.

helping my team out

today i posted on Facebook a rough structure of what we will aim for when getting this project done. this is what i posted

Alright guys, this is what we need to get done as soon as possible! as there are so many of us, then its probably good to get into 2s. research into the industry shouldnt need 2 people as its quite a simple task. when all this is done send it to my email and i will put it all into a business plan.

1. The Industry - research into the industry, will it benifit from this idea?

2. Marketing analysis - who are our target audience? where are they located? is there room for expanding?

3. Competitive analysis - who are our direct and indirect competitors? what are their strengths and weeknesses over us?

4. Marketing plan - sales strutegy, pricing plans, promoting our site, is there any merchandise? ( work closely with finance )

5. Management plan - legal strugtures, management resourses such us internal team and external, and any other human resourses needed.

6. Operation plan - where will we be located? facilities needed, equipment needed. what skills do we need to get this up and running?

7. Financial plan - where will we get the money from? how will we use the money? this needs to be quite detailed and analised before we submit

I havent got much hope for my team at the moment, other things seem to be in their mind, i hope we can pull through in time.

Facebook page

Today i have created the Facebook page, i have done this to keep in touch with my team over the whole time that this unit will run. i do hope that i can keep in touch with the team. i know that sometimes this method of communication is sometimes a little off and a team might struggle with getting work done. i know this too well from working's with other teams but in a larger scale. I know this too well because during my 3rd year at this college we have used this method of communication to work on our final film. i have added the following students to the group

For this unit i have come with an idea which i believe will benefit our college and the students studying here. my idea first came to me when i was working on a few animations a month ago, i wanted help but had no idea where to look, so i looked through Facebook and realized that many of my friends wouldn't be able to help me. so i then turned to ravensbourne and this was even worse. i know who was in my class but i had no idea of what they could do.

My idea is to bring the college closer together by introducing a site where everyone can upload their own portfolios, not only does this allow students to connect with everyone at rave but they will be able to see what they are able to do. for example, if i wanted a sound student, i would have no idea where to go, i guess i could ask around but then i would have to strongly rely on what I'm told by those i ask. i also have no idea who the students are or where they are located on the day! having this constant swamping of rooms never allows students to assign to an area.
